This accidental piece has been one of my most popular ones, circa 1981.
It is a result of anger over not being able to match the gray in the pic below.
I was wasting to much paint, making an ever larger batch, so i slapped some of it on a nearby paper.
I essentially ran out of paint, finding out just how hard it can be to match gray.
Later I mooshed it around in frustration before it dried, with the large brush I used to move it,
a few days later i put in the background and other details. It is probably my best face, a result of anger.

I can date these by the fact that I had intended to give this one to Allison Lowry,
my first lover, in the spring of 1981.
I had to break for supper (one of the few times Mom was so insistant i be on time), and never did match the gray cape.
I still don't like how fast acrylics dry, and have seldom used them since.
Another reason I gave up is that I already knew it was a bad idea to paint the foreground first.
Ah, the follies of young love!
Oh well, i did several of my best renderings of dragons flying around in one sketch I gave her good friend,
and my best friend's exgirlfriend, Cathy Coon, when she left town, now i would give anything to study it again,<
much less digitize it. Oh well, this piece would have long been gone and forgotten had i ever finished it.
